Attorney Iselinn Pauli Martinsen works primarily with criminal cases, both as a defense attorney and assistant attorney. She has experience from various types of criminal cases, including large and complex drug cases, financial criminal cases and sexual offenses. In addition, she assists private parties with advice and dispute resolution in civil cases, with particular expertise in employment law, child protection, parental disputes, mental health care and bullying cases.

Iselinn has a background in civil law as an associate and lawyer in the law firms Bing Hodneland and Føyen Torkildsen. Here she assisted companies with business law advice and litigation in the core areas of labor law, contract law and intellectual property law. She has also given several lectures on copyright and labor law, in addition to teaching at the University of Oslo in the elective course RINF1200 "Copyright and related rights".

Iselinn graduated from the Faculty of Law in Oslo in 2017. She wrote her master's thesis on exclusion (solitary confinement) under the Execution of Sentences Act. The thesis contains an assessment of the authority in the Execution of Sentences Act section 37 (1) letters a and e against the requirement for a clear legal basis when exercising invasive authority under the Constitution and the European Convention on Human Rights.

Iselinn is particularly concerned with the importance of effective control of the exercise of power. "Everyone, regardless of their background and position, has the right to fair treatment in the face of government intervention. In practice, for many people, good legal assistance is absolutely necessary in order to identify and claim their rights. Good legal assistance should not be a benefit reserved for the resourceful. This is why she has been involved for several years as a volunteer caseworker and now supervisor at Gatejuristen, which provides free legal aid to people who have or have had a substance abuse problem.

She also has work experience from Bredtveit prison and detention center.

In addition to a master's degree in law from the University of Oslo, Iselinn holds a bachelor's degree in development studies with a specialization in political science from the University of Bergen.
